Job Description
Hours: 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday
Pay: $24.50-$26/hour based on experience
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will support warehouse operations by managing stocking requirements, shipping and receiving activities, and preparing bills of lading. This role also includes providing customer service related to shipping and receiving functions, as well as performing scheduled weekly customer deliveries using a box truck.
Responsibilities:
· Perform activities within shipping, receiving, and inventory maintenance duties.
· Oversee the prompt handling of customer service requests including but not limited to; expediting, billing, shipping, and order maintenance.
· Work within various customer’s shipping portals via the computer to ship material. This includes entering in all needed information to create a BOL.
· Perform any physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse.
· Safely operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturer’s instructions.
· Maintain security of merchandise and equipment, ensuring safe working conditions.
· Verify material being received and use ERP system to receive material into our inventory system and ensuring inventory quantities and racking locations are accurate.
· Weekly box truck deliveries to customers, this includes driving the box truck.
· Support production team with material handling for daily production requirements including performing all ERP transactions to move product to proper physical locations within the warehouse/production facility.
· Support quality team with material handling for daily quality requirements including performing all ERP transactions to move product to proper physical locations within the warehouse/production facility.
· Assist with cycle counting and/or physical inventory counts.
· Assist in implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Assist in other initiatives as directed.
Qualifications
· 2 years shipping and operations experience
· Experience with warehouse procedures and security regulations
· Knowledge of freight shipping and experience with various freight companies
· Valid Class Driver license
· Clean driving record for a minimum 5 year period
· Computer, administrative and organization skills
· Customer service skills
· Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
· Ability to work cooperatively with sales, production and others to address issues, concerns and opportunities.
· Familiar with inventory transactions including receiving into the erp system and invoicing
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Effective communicator both written and verbally
· Ability to work in team environment
