Job Description
Shipping & Receiving Associate Level I, 1st shift, 5:30am-2pm, $15-$16.50/hr
Essential duties of a Shipping and Receiving Associate are as follows:
- Responsible incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments (small packages and palletized orders)
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
- Label/identify customer orders with appropriate POs, jobcards, and/or work order receivers.
- Helps packing department with light packing
- Worked with various shipping companies to ship products and customer orders.
- Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and a variety of other pieces of material handling equipment.
- Transported incoming orders freight from designated staging and/or receiving areas onto production floor.
- Maintained the overall cleanliness of doc, and other designated shipping and receiving areas.
- Followed established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety standards
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies department manager, maintenance personnel, or contacts outside service facility for repair
- Operated all assigned warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Report all shipping and receiving issues to Shipping and Receiving Manager
- Effectively communicate with other department leads to ensure timely shipment of orders
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Comprehensive MS Office skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint are a must.
- 0 to 3 years in a related field, shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- The use of a pallet jack, stacker, and forklift will be required, training will be available.
- Great organizational skills.
