Job Description
Job purpose : the sanitation coordinator is responsible for overseeing all outsourced sanitation activities to ensure company standards are met.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Follow GMP requirements mandated by the company
- Act as the liaison between Quality and outsourced sanitation services to ensure communication is maintained to support a cohesiveness and team environment among outsourced sanitation associates and Company
- Communicate with the Quality Manger and outsourced sanitation management to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for improvement.
- Perform facility sanitation inspections of production, packaging and warehouse areas and assign corrective actions to correct deficiencies.
- Perform sanitation visual inspections of production equipment and areas after cleaning to and assign corrective actions as necessary prior to the release to production.
- Conduct ATP swabbing and assign corrective actions as necessary prior to the release of production lines.
- Monitor and record chemical titrations.
- Monitor, track, and document chemical inventory within the facility.
- Review and monitor the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) for completion.
- Audit sanitation SSOPs for accuracy and effectiveness and provide feedback to the Quality Manager and outsourced sanitation management staff for discrepancies and improvements.
- Prepare end of shift reports and document relative information on sanitation operations and activities, as required.
- Ensures plant cleanliness is in compliance with all regulatory, food safety, quality and customer requirements and within Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Responsible for adhering to food safety, employee safety, quality standards, Customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Report any food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Perform additional activities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 yrs. or older.
- Must have at least 1 year of food manufacturing environment experience in a high speed environment.
- Bi-lingual is desirable
- Sanitation experience preferred but will train.
- Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, Allergens and Personal Protective Equipment.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Proactive mind-set and flexibility are important as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize work under pressure.
- Detail oriented, accurate, and organized.
- Ability to read and write English; Bi-lingual a plus
- Basic math and computer skills
Working conditions: Fast paced food packaging environment that may include weekend work and overtime, exposure to various temperatures, working on concrete floors and noise levels exceeding 85 dbls.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder/stairs
- Reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weight up to 50 lbs
- Potential allergens exposure to: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soy, Milk, Sesame, and Eggs.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment corresponding to task (i.e. hearing protection, face shield, safety glasses, aprons, gloves, etc. )
- Ability to work in a normal food manufacturing atmosphere and the situations that it may impose (noise, temperatures, etc.).
