What does the job involve?
The Network Engineer will provide support services for technological systems, programs, and networks. They will oversee the implementation, security, stability, updating, and maintenance of IT systems and components in a multi-facility, direct manufacturing environment.
What will my responsibilities include?
- Build and sustain a reliable network using Fortinet equipment.
- As a Network Engineer, you will lead IT projects in a self-directed manner.
- Establish procedures that optimize resources to ensure that work objective (i.e. productivity, quality, costs) are consistently met.
- Manage access controls to the Network and ERP and provide support and training.
- Manage project implementation to ensure effective handoff, training, and documentation. Ensure changes are fully integrated through follow-up communication and consistency.
- Create relationships quickly and confidently; successfully manages both internal and external relationships and is comfortable in a challenger role that requires and can influence.
- Solely maintain the company’s internal IT Department onsite.
- Active directory, group policies, Grand Stream phones, Exchange/Barracuda email, convert from Ubiquity to Fortinet access points, convert from Netgate to Fortinet switches, Hyper V, O365, TrendMicro anti-virus, convert pfsense to Fortinet firewall, OpenVPN, and Synology and Veeam backups
- Data Integration and Processing - Responsible for processing, cleaning, and integrating large data sets from various sources to ensure that the data is accurate, complete, and consistent in making the company cyber secure by protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access. Moving the company towards NIST 800-171 and ITAR compliance.
- Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
- Perform test and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
What key skills and experience do I need?
- Experience in IT Technical or Network Administration required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop a rapport with leadership and team members.
- Strong communication/presentation skills, verbal and written.
- Create and maintain project documentation.
- Office 365 Certification, preferred.
- Powershell / Script Writing
What qualifications should I have?
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in an IT Network or Technical Role.
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement process utilizing Six Sigma and Lean techniques; Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
