Metrology Technician I (1st Shift)
Location: Northwest Milwaukee, WI
Pay: $20–$25/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (8:00 AM or 9:00 AM start – 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM end)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Technician I to join our team in a laboratory/office environment. This role supports product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance by performing inspections, measurements, and mechanical testing.
A key responsibility includes operating a tensile testing machine where cable ties are wrapped and stretched until failure, then accurately reading and documenting test data from the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tensile testing equipment to evaluate product performance
- Perform visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and mechanical testing
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Use precision tools such as calipers, gage pins, height gages, and force gauges
- Record and document test results, defects, and deviations in software systems
- Identify failure modes and assist with root cause analysis
- Maintain and manage test samples
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe lab environment
- Utilize systems such as JDE, SQC Pack, and EQMS
- Communicate results clearly and professionally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of inspection/testing experience (lab or manufacturing preferred)
- Experience using calipers and reading blueprints required
- Familiarity with testing and measurement equipment
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to pass Ishihara Color Vision Test (or disclose deficiency)
- Injection molding experience is a plus
Work Environment
- Office/laboratory setting
- Office casual dress code
- Use of required PPE
- May require standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods
