Machine Bindery Setup Operator - 1st shift

Location: New Berlin, WI
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

SITE Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Machine Bindery Setup Operator for a growing printing and graphics company. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled bindery professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products.
Responsibilities:
Equipment Setup & Operation
- Set up and operate a variety of bindery equipment including cutters, folders, saddle stitchers, perfect binders, and collators.
- Review job specifications and production schedules to ensure accurate machine setup and efficient production.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed throughout production runs.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Identify and correct issues such as misalignment, improper binding, uneven cuts, or folding defects.
- Maintain consistent quality throughout the production process.
Machine Maintenance:
- Perform routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to the Bindery Manager.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve machine and production issues such as paper jams, misfeeds, and folding inconsistencies.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency and productivity.
Documentation & Communication:
- Complete job tickets, production logs, and setup records accurately.
- Record production counts, setup times, machine adjustments, and job completion information.
- Collaborate with pressroom, quality control, and other production departments to ensure projects are completed on time.
Safety & Housekeeping:
- Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly handle materials and equipment to prevent accidents and product damage.
Qualifications:
- Previous bindery setup and machine operation experience required.
- Experience with cutters, folders, saddle stitchers, perfect binders, collators, or similar bindery equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
