Shift Hours: 7am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday
Pay: $21/hour plus 5% monthly bonuses

The MRO Buyer & Stock Room Coordinator position is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the maintenance, repair, and engineering department. They will procure goods and services, manage MRO inventories, and will utilize their purchasing skills to negotiate the best possible pricing and lead times with vendors. They will be the owner of the parts stock room, responsible for organization, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.
- Mange all MRO purchasing for the plant
- Implement continuous improvement programs with suppliers that result in cost reductions
- Introduce the organization to new technical developments in materials and components.
- Manage sourcing and negotiating for all vendors and maintain accurate records
- Bid MRO commodities and single items at the plant
- Plan and execute procurement of MRO items from local and global suppliers
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the most favorable cost, terms and lead time
- Develop new sources for MRO items including but not limited to, tooling, shop and office supplies, equipment rental, hardware, chemicals, and maintenance services.
- Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery, and pricing
- Support management in strategic MRO cost savings projects
- Generate and issue purchase orders in support of the MRO functions
- Monitor purchase orders to ensure delivery dates are met, and expedite deliveries when necessary
- Work with receiving and accounting to help resolve invoice discrepancies on purchase orders
- Apply for new vendors to be added to the vendor list when required.
- Arrange for broken parts and tools to be sent to vendor for repair.
- Schedule vendor visits when requested or needed.
- Unpack, verify, and receive parts into inventory. Put away all spare parts within 24 hours of delivery.
- Continuously improve the organization and functionality of the parts stock room.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the parts stock room.
- Conduct weekly physical inventory counts and verify quantities to maintain proper stock levels.
- Add new parts and materials to storeroom by identifying part numbers, assign a shelf and bin location, and generate a label.
- Identify parts stocking levels for critical spare parts.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts used in manufacturing
- Good math skills and computer skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings.
- Has the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings.
- Knowledge and understands the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes.
- Can manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, etc.
- Training and proficient using CMMS systems for work order and inventory control
- Knowledgeable in the use and application of MRO supply chain techniques
- Thorough understanding of inventory, shipping, receiving, and cycle counting in a maintenance area.
