Are you an experienced production or packaging professional looking to move into a leadership role? We're seeking a 2nd Shift Lead Packager to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, training others, and keeping production running efficiently while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
As the Lead Packager, you'll serve as a key resource on the production floor by supporting packers, wet end operators, and production leadership. You'll be cross-trained throughout the production process and will step into various roles as needed to ensure smooth operations.
What You'll Do
- Lead by example while supporting day-to-day production activities on the manufacturing floor.
- Cross-train in all production areas, including packing and wet end operations.
- Perform production packing duties including:
- Visual quality inspections
- Packing finished products
- Palletizing completed orders
- Labeling and wrapping pallets
- Preparing finished goods for shipment
- Operate and assist with wet end production processes, including:
- Pulp preparation
- Cycle time adjustments
- Tooling changeovers
- Equipment cleaning
- Provide guidance and daily support to Production Packers and Wet End Operators.
- Assist with training and onboarding new employees on production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Step in to cover Production Packer, Wet End Operator, or Production Supervisor responsibilities when necessary to maintain production flow.
- Monitor product quality and communicate defects or production concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Help troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and keep schedules on track.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and housekeeping.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production-related questions during the shift.
- Support production needs in either manufacturing facility when required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous manufacturing, production, or packaging experience required.
- Prior leadership, lead, trainer, or mentoring experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn multiple production processes and work across departments.
- Ability to lift, move, and stack materials throughout the shift.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team success.
