Job Description

  • Mechanical systems design
    • Proficiency in Solidworks mechanical design (2 years or more) with ability to work with and sometimes design the following systems:
      • Structural extruded aluminum framing
      • Linear Motion systems
      • Workholding fixtures
      • Robotic systems with EOAT
      • Overhead lifting equipment and systems
      • Conveyance systems
      • Vision systems
      • DC assembly tools and precision assembly equipment
      • Must have clear understanding of large assembly design and management
 
  • Electrical Systems Design and Programming
    • Proficiency in Solidworks Electrical design (2 years or more) with ability to work with and sometimes design the control systems in the categories listed above. This includes but is not limited to implementing designs with:
      • Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and Servo systems
      • Safety Systems for robots and linear motion
      • Other vendors control platforms and third party devices
      • Ethernet based communications: Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, IOLink..etc
      • Discrete I/O and analog devices/sensors
      • Vision systems: Keyence, Omron, Cognex
      • Field wiring and termination technology
      • Networking and communication hardware
      • Remote access systems
      • Must have an understanding of large system design and management

  • Engineer Must-Haves
    • Adhere to any safety related standards in both Mechanical and Electrical Design
    • Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
    • Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and electrical control systems.
    • Self-motivated and detail-orientated
    • Able to allocate time efficiently and independently
    • Willing to learn and continually grow skillset
    • Perseverance to solve the problems at hand
    • Convey ideas effectively and work in a team environment
    • Willing to work in roles outside of job description
      • Includes shop assembly of your mechanical designs (only as needed)
      • On-site service for customers (10% travel local to WI)
    • Able to clearly communicate capabilities and limitations
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work with Sales Engineer to understand the full scope of the project and/or concept
  • Work to obtain a feasible and economic solution to the customers need
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations during the design process to ensure feasibility
  • Create and finalize designs to meet the project requirements
  • Record and manage accurate Bill of Materials
  • Define equipment and specs from external suppliers
  • Record cost and billable hours on projects
  • Provide support for internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, within expected quality and allotted budget
  • Support manufacture, build, and validation of systems
  • Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings
  • Plan, execute, and complete projects
