Design & Fabrication Specialist
Shift: 1st, (8am-4:30pm)
Pay: $70k-$100K/YR (Based on experience)
Job Description:
- Support new product development and product enhancement through design, prototyping, fabricating, and testing.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop detailed plans and models.
- Fabricate components from various materials including metals, plastics, composites, wood, and fabrics using various processes (cutting, punching, machining, welding, 3D printing, etc.).
- Engage with suppliers for design input, material sourcing, and procurement.
- Ensure all fabricated parts meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Assemble prototypes, oversee testing, and manage project timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of design iterations, materials used, and fabrication processes while ensuring all work adheres to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling. SolidWorks preferred.
- Hands on fabrication skills with multiple materials and processes.
- Strong working knowledge of materials, fabricating techniques, and rapid prototyping methods.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to innovate under tight deadlines.
- Good internal communication skills and collaborative teamwork approach
- PLC and microprocessor control system experience is a plus.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of software
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documents, such as drawings, schedules, and routings.
