Buyer
Shift: 1st, (7am-3:30pm)
Pay: $85-$90k /Yr. (Based on Experience)
Job Description:
- Issue purchase orders for assigned products and services, negotiate pricing and ensure supplier compliance, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality; resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Identify new and current key suppliers to include dual sourcing opportunities for critical long lead-time parts.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure the best price, service, quality and delivery.
- Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities; participate in cost reduction projects.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to minimize costs while ensuring a high level of service; proactively avoid material shortages.
- Manage supplier performance; ensure suppliers are performing at an acceptable level and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site visits.
- Work with internal customers, i.e. customer service, engineering, manufacturing, quality and accounting to streamline processes in support of customer service excellence.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action to minimize impact on production.
