Job Description
Shipping Clerk
2nd shift, 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday and every other weekend, with one day off during the week
Pay: $17-$20/hour
JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Shipping Clerk verifies documentation and tracks jobs using job tickets, equipment schedules and system
reports to ensure all shipments are accurate and complete.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Verifies within the job ticket that correct quantities are produced.
2. Ensures all documentation is accurate, ASN’s are sent to applicable clients and that all products are accounted for
accurately.
3. Responsible for scanning skids, building truckloads, and confirming all information on packing slip is accurate.
4. Understands and follows the process for EDDM orders and the post office report.
5. Utilizes system reports to complete Bill of Lading, Packing List and ensure all jobs are accounted for.
6. Sorts, wraps and labels all skids and/or cartons using information from the job ticket and the system to complete the
job.
7. Understands and follows procedure for processing and shipping customer samples.
8. Informs management of needs, problems and errors.
9. Maintains and utilizes knowledge of the UPS system and processes UPS orders.
10. Ensures leads/supervisors receive proper communication of daily shipping information.
11. Verifies weight of completed jobs.
12. Organizes the work areas to maintain a safe and clean environment.
13. Responsible for loading and unloading of all trucks.
14. Fulfills paper requests from the press department accurately and in a timely manner.
15. Operates forklifts and clamp trucks in a safe manner.
