Job Description
General Shop Clerk
Shift: 1st, (7am-3:30pm)
Pay: $19/hr (Based on Experience)
We are seeking a mechanically inclined General Shop Person to join our production team. This role involves hands-on fabrication support, material handling, equipment operation, and general shop maintenance. This is not a warehouse or shipping/receiving position—we are looking for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and experience using tools and machinery.
Job Description:
- Load and unload trucks and store incoming steel using an overhead crane
- Wash steel tubing to remove grease
- Cut metal material to size using various cutting machines (must read tape measures to 1/16”)
- Grind and polish metal products using electric hand grinders
- Caulk and apply bondo to fabricated products (railings, fences, steel stairs)
- Maintain a clean and organized shop (sweeping, trash removal, etc.)
- Perform outdoor maintenance tasks such as cutting grass
- Occasionally assist installers in the field
- Occasionally drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver materials (after hire)
Required Qualifications:
- Mechanical ability with experience using hand and electrical tools
- Strong math skills, especially fractions and decimals
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
