Job Description

Laser Turret Team Member Level 2 - Weekend Shift Will train on 1st shift, Mon-Thurs for a few weeks before moving to the weekend shift.
Days, 6am - 6:30pm, Fri, Sat, Sun
Nights, 6pm-6:30am, Fri, Sat, Sun
Pay: $20.69- $27.45 BOE
Work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours, with $5.00 shift premium on the weekend shifts, (night shift also receives a $1/hr shift pre.)

SUMMARY
The turret/laser operator will work in a cutting fabrication cell as a part of a team performing set-up and operation of turret/laser equipment in accordance to quality and production standards. Based on workload mix and the company skill-based pay program, the turret/laser operator may learn additional skills such as operating a press brake or operating a hardware insertion machine as part of the operator’s long-term development plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Responsible for setting up and operating turret/laser equipment to cut metal components to print and MPE quality requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying raw materials, loading and unloading materials using manual lifts, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
  • Responsible for flexing to shakeout (part separation), deburring, hardware insertion or press brake operations based on workload.
  • Must be able to read mechanical drawings and understand standard and metric dimensions.
  • Responsible for verifying parts to print requirements and verifying another operators’ work.
  • Responsible for following all MPE safety policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized workplace through good housekeeping efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Must be able to use various turret and laser equipment and produce parts that meet MPE’s quality standards
  • Operator may be subject to passing testing requirements.
  • Must able to read and understand work order information, mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and analyze such as dimensions, and measurements.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
